Sneak or Dash?
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Awful and old game to learn game development. Honestly, don't pay attention.
Description
You must get to the yellow goal but enemies block your path. Luckily, you have the ability to camouflage yourself when not moving. Do you sneak and hide as they wander around or do you dash past them to victory.
R.I.P. Mac OSX Users
Sorry Mac OSX users, during export, the project corrupted and I exported to Mac OSX last. Windows 10, Linux, and X11 are still supported in both 32-bit and 64-bit formats. (By the way, Linux > Windows 10 > OSX > Nothing)
About This Project
In my first game jam, Itch.io's Weekly Game Jam #128 'Camouflage', I started very late only having 2 days left. I did not get to finish on the last day because of personal events thus I was not able to submit my game. I still completed and uploaded my game, naming it 'Sneak or Dash?'.
To try and fit in with the theme, you had the ability to turn invisible but only when still.
During the jam, I spent most of my time crawling the internet for answers to my continuous supply of code problems. It was nice though to spend some time making the tiles used in this project. If you can see, all the tiles were either one of two 8x8 basic tile types coloured into nine separate tiles and the characters were the default icon for Godot modulated to represent what they were e.g. green represents good and it was the player while red means danger so they were enemies.
To make this game I used Godot (C#) and Piskel.

I found some free game assets from the itch.io free game asset section and I think they could have made the game much better if I recreated it again with them and changing things based on feedback.
During the start of the game jam, my mouse broke so I had to use the cursor keys on my keyboard. Not fun.
1/10 Would not recommend using cursor keys to a friend.
I hope to join a second game jam soon and be a part of this wonderful community!
